Board of Fire Control Established in 1947, the Board of Fire Control was developed to provide technical expertise and advice to the State Fire Marshal. Building Code Review Board This board recommends legislation to amend the NH Building Code to provide consistency with other laws, rules, or regulations, while considering economic costs, public safety and best practices. They also review and confirm municipal amendments. Electric Vehicle, E-Mobility & Lithium Ion Battery Study Council This group was formed as a result of SB 430, signed in June 2024, and will run through November 2025. It is tasked with studying and sharing actionable recommendations to address challenges and risks associated with lithium-ion batteries in electric vehicles and e-mobility devices. Passenger Tramway Safety Board Established in 1957, the board is responsible for registering and inspecting passenger tramways, investigating accidents and complaints, and approving applications for lift construction or modification. Permissible Fireworks Review Committee This committee administers the list of communities that have adopted consumer fireworks restrictions. It also reviews Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) rules and standards to provide insight and advice to the Commissioner on the application and enforcement of the state’s fireworks laws. State Emergency Response Commission The State Emergency Response Commission implements the Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA) provisions in New Hampshire. It is a sub-committee of the Governor’s Advisory Council on Emergency Preparedness and Security. Swiftwater Rescue Group The NH State Fire Marshal's Office works in concert with the NH Fish & Game Department and the NH swiftwater rescue teams to assess and improve capabilities in the state.
