The NH State Fire Marshal’s Office works cooperatively with local fire departments and federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies to promote fireworks safety.
Which fireworks are allowed in New Hampshire?
The following terms are often used interchangeably to identify those that are allowed to be purchased and used in our state:
- Permissible Fireworks
- Consumer Fireworks
- Class C Fireworks
When are permits or licenses required?
For all shows that occur across the state, including concerts, entertainment venues, and movie and television production sets.
Fireworks and pyrotechnics companies that would like to sell, manufacture, store or use display fireworks and pyrotechnic articles must also submit the appropriate applications.
Are fireworks allowed in my community?
NH RSA 160-C gives towns, cities, or local municipalities the authority to adopt local ordinances. See this Community Restrictions List.

Please be prepared, safe, and responsible when using permissible consumer fireworks and follow and any local ordinances that apply to your community.
