Engineering & Plan Review

Our office is required by statute to review pre-construction plans for the following types of projects:

1. State owned property (not leased or rented by the State of NH)
2. NH University System and NH Community College System
3. Educational Occupancies and Healthcare occupancies

Projects other than the ones outlined above are the responsibility of the local authority having jurisdiction (AHJ), which are the fire department or building department, depending on local rules and laws. This office is available to those officials for specific questions and code clarifications.

Submission Guidelines

1. All requests for plan review must be accompanied by a completed plan review submission form.
2. All requests for a variance must be accompanied by a completed variance request form.

Construction plans and documents must be submitted through the State Fire Marshal's MyGov portal, which requires a collaborator account.
