Structure Fire in Winchester
Winchester – New Hampshire State Fire Marshal Sean P. Toomey and Winchester Fire Chief Barry Kellom announce that on September 11, 2021 at 0334 hours a 911 caller reported that there was a fire in a vacant structure at 19 Elm Street. Winchester and Hinsdale Fire units responded to the scene and encountered fire coming out of the back corner of the residence. They extinguished it and requested assistance from the NH State Fire Marshal’s Office to assist with a fire origin and cause investigation.
The New Hampshire State Fire Marshal’s Office, and Winchester Fire and Police Departments are investigating the incident as a possible incendiary fire.
State Fire Sean P. Toomey wants to remind everyone to maintain working smoke alarms in their homes, keep exits clear of debris, have your heating systems inspected and maintained on an annual basis and keep at least a three to five foot clearance around any heating appliance from other combustible materials.
