Celebrate Safely With Fireworks

All of us at the New Hampshire State Fire Marshal’s Office want you to have a safe and enjoyable Fourth of July.

I’d like to share a few tips to keep you safe.

The best option to enjoy fireworks is by going to one of the many professional displays that are schedule throughout the state.

If you plan to purchase your own fireworks, buy them from one of the twenty five licensed retail locations, follow all safety precautions and local ordinances.

Also, as a word of caution on sparklers, they can reach over twelve hundred degrees and cause serious burns.

Use them only outdoors. Light one at a time, keep them at an arm’s length away, stand at least six feet from other people, and have water available nearby.

No matter what you do this Fourth of July, be prepared, be safe, and be responsible.
